Stolen banner and Psalms 150...

Psalms 150:1 & 6

"Praise the Lord!... Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!"

This morning we found out that the banner announcing Origin's launch this Sunday, was stolen last night sometime. It was a stressful, bummer kind of morning. Who ever took it had no idea the time it would cost me to try and figure the whole thing out. Not to mention the money the banner cost and the permit to display it.

I sat down at It's a Grind this morning, opened my Bible. I read a Psalm every morning. So happens this morning was Psalms 150, the last one. The words rushed over me like a wave, causing a foam of truth to stir in me.

This whole banner thing is simple in comparison to everything else but it seems like banner moments happen often to us. David in the Psalms just says, "Praise the Lord!" Notice the inflection. David could have put a period at the end of the sentence but he put an exclamation point. That exclamation point is the only signal we have to the passion at which we are to praise. It not a simple phrase for Christian talk. It's not a marking tool for Christian book stores to sell more wall plaques. It's not for us say, "Yeah, I know, praise the Lord". It's with passion and reality we praise the Lord. There is no circumstantial influence into what David is saying. It's plan, "Praise the Lord!"

Banner or no banner. Sickness or realtive health. Stress or calm. Married or single. rational or seemingly irrational. Praise the LORD!
